16+ / Young Person's Personal Advisor

We are recruiting a Personal Advisor (Band 4) to work within Family and Childcare Services in Omagh. Your role will be to support young people who are leaving care and the key duties will be to:

  • Provide advice, including practical advice and support to young people leaving care and in aftercare as agreed in the pathway plan
  • Offer support in the form of mentoring to and advocacy on behalf of, the young person, where appropriate
  • Participate in assessing the needs of young people leaving care and contributing to preparation of pathway plans
  • Participate in reviews of the pathway plan and request revisions to the plan where appropriate

You will have:

  • 5 GCSE’s at Grade A-C including English Language or equivalent 
  • Full driving licence and access to a car (unless precluded through disability)
  • Minimum of two years direct and recent experience of engaging with adolescent young people, on an individual or group basis, either in a paid or voluntary capacity
  • Experience and understanding of working with others, e.g. parents, GPs, teachers, youth clubs, PSNI etc. to meet the needs of young people

Due to the nature of this post you will be required to be in possession of a satisfactory enhanced Access NI disclosure on commencement of this assignment
