Healthcare Assistant Experience:


To join our agency as a healthcare assistant it is essential you must have at least 6 months recent, full-time, paid experience working in a nursing home setting carrying out personal care for elderly residents. Please note applications without experience will not be considered.


  • Recent experience in a healthcare setting

  • Outstanding communications skills – written and verbal

  • NISCC registration

  • Please note an Access NI Enhanced Disclosure will be required for this position and it is subject to satisfactory references

The ideal candidate would also have the passion and drive to provide the highest standard of care at all times, as well as a positive attitude towards new opportunities and experiences! 


Healthcare Assistant Duties:

  • Personal Care duties – helping residents with all aspects of personal care including; personal hygiene, dressing, continence management, mobility and help with meal times

  • Be familiar with the use of a hoist

  • Health and Safety – ensuring that hygiene standards are consistently kept to a very high standard and paramount importance

  • Observing and Monitoring – accurate observations of residents to help improve their personal care and development

  • Task Management – undertaking tasks detailed in the resident’s care and support plan as well as assisting the permanent staff in their day-to-day tasks where required

  • Confidentiality – handling of personal possessions and documents

  • Teamwork and Initiative – contribute fully to the team, working alongside highly skilled healthcare professionals and using your own initiative when needed to ensure that a high standard of care is constantly provided
