About the role

We're recruiting Care Assistants for a care home in Newry, part of a group of homes across Northern Ireland.

The home specialises in dementia care and also supports older people and people with mental health needs. Your calm, reassuring approach will make a real difference to residents who may feel confused or anxious.

Key responsibilities

• Help residents with personal care, dressing and continence care, always protecting their dignity
• Support mobility and moving and handling, using hoists and equipment where needed
• Assist at mealtimes and encourage residents to eat and drink well
• Spend time with residents, encouraging conversation and activities
• Record care accurately and report any changes to the nurse in charge

What you’ll need

Applicants must have:

• At least 6 months of UK care assistant experience gained within the past 2 years
• Experience providing personal care and using hoisting equipment
• The legal right to work in the UK
