Care Assistant

About the role

We're recruiting Care Assistants for a care home in Castlewellan, at the foot of the Mournes.

The home cares for older people, people living with dementia and people with physical disabilities, and supports older adults with learning disabilities. It's a homely setting where you'll get to know each resident and what makes their day.

Shifts are flexible, so you can work around family, study or other commitments.

Key responsibilities

• Help residents with personal care, dressing and continence care, always protecting their dignity
• Support mobility and moving and handling, using hoists and equipment where needed
• Assist at mealtimes and encourage residents to eat and drink well
• Spend time with residents, encouraging conversation and activities
• Record care accurately and report any changes to the nurse in charge

What you’ll need

Applicants must have:

• At least 6 months of UK care assistant experience gained within the past 2 years
• Experience providing personal care and using hoisting equipment
• The legal right to work in the UK
