Healthcare Assistant – 1:1 Care

About the role

We’re looking for patient, caring Healthcare Assistants to provide one-to-one support at a nursing home in Lisburn, caring for older people, people living with dementia and adults with physical disabilities. It’s a rewarding role where you’ll get to know one resident really well and make a real difference to their day.

You’ll be dedicated to supporting one resident throughout your shift, keeping them safe and comfortable and helping them with their daily routine. Day, night and weekend shifts are available, you’ll be paid weekly, and a dedicated Bond consultant will support you from your first shift.

Key responsibilities

• Provide continuous one-to-one supervision and support for a resident with complex needs
• Help with personal care, mobility, eating and drinking, always protecting their dignity
• Use calm, person-centred approaches to reduce distress and keep the resident and others safe
• Record observations accurately and report any changes to the nurse in charge

What you’ll need

Applicants must have:

• At least 6 months of UK care assistant experience gained within the past 2 years
• Experience providing personal care and using hoisting equipment
• The legal right to work in the UK
• Experience supporting people with dementia, mental health needs or behaviours that challenge is an advantage
• Registered, or willing to register, with the Northern Ireland Social Care Council (NISCC)
