Healthcare Assistant

About the role

We're recruiting Healthcare Assistants for a care home in Derry/Londonderry, part of one of Northern Ireland's larger care groups, with homes right across the country.

The home cares for older people and people with physical disabilities, helping residents stay as independent and comfortable as possible.

No two days are the same, and the small things you do, from a warm good morning to helping someone walk to the lounge, make a real difference. Shifts are flexible, so you can choose when you work.

Key responsibilities

• Help residents with personal care, dressing and continence care, always protecting their dignity
• Support mobility and moving and handling, using hoists and equipment where needed
• Assist at mealtimes and encourage residents to eat and drink well
• Spend time with residents, encouraging conversation and activities
• Record care accurately and report any changes to the nurse in charge

What you’ll need

Applicants must have:

• At least 6 months of UK care assistant experience gained within the past 2 years
• Experience providing personal care and using hoisting equipment
• The legal right to work in the UK
